With Matt Ryan leaving CBS for the Falcons, quarterback Kirk Cousins will step in for the next two weekends on The NFL Today. Cousins has a background in media and is set to enter free agency in March after a contract adjustment allows the Falcons to release him. He signed a four-year deal with the Falcons in 2024, which included $100 million in guarantees, but was benched later that season. Following an injury to rookie quarterback Michael Penix Jr., Cousins started eight games in 2025, ending on a four-game winning streak.
