Colts head coach Shane Steichen announced that quarterback Anthony Richardson will serve as the backup to starting QB Daniel Jones. Richardson, who is ahead of Riley Leonard on the depth chart, was selected by the Colts as the No. 4 overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft. He signed a four-year contract worth nearly $37 million but has faced injury setbacks, including season-ending shoulder surgery in his rookie year. Richardson’s performance in 2025 was limited to just two games with one completed pass for nine yards.
