As of September, many of this year’s free agents have signed contracts, but some unrestricted free agents remain, including former Montreal Canadiens forward Tanner Pearson. After splitting the previous season between the Winnipeg Jets and Buffalo Sabres, he recorded 15 points in 56 games. Although his prime may be behind him, Pearson could still provide valuable depth and experience to an NHL team, possibly through a professional tryout. He spent the 2023-24 season with the Canadiens, scoring five goals and earning 13 points before not being re-signed.
