Calgary Flames center Morgan Frost is in the final year of his contract and could become an unrestricted free agent next summer. With a strong performance last season and the team’s ongoing rebuild, there are arguments for both trading him and extending his contract. Additionally, defenseman Zach Whitecloud is seen as a valuable mentor for the young defensive core, making a trade less likely. Meanwhile, Samuel Honzek is facing uncertainty in his development, potentially opening him up to trade speculation if he doesn’t progress this season.
