Evgeny Kuznetsov has signed a one-year contract with KHL’s Sibir Novosibirsk, ending speculation about his NHL future for the year. After a solid return to KHL with 12 goals and 37 points in 39 games for SKA St. Petersburg, Kuznetsov’s performances failed to generate significant NHL interest, leading to his departure from the league after a disappointing stint with the Carolina Hurricanes. His last productive NHL season was in 2022-23 with the Washington Capitals, after which he struggled to maintain performance levels.
