Netminder Amir Miftakhov is returning to Russia after a year in the AHL, signing a two-year deal with the KHL’s Shanghai Dragons. Drafted 186th overall in 2020 by the Tampa Bay Lightning, Miftakhov had a challenging stint in North America, posting a 7-8-4 record in his rookie AHL season. He later excelled in the KHL before joining the Carolina Hurricanes on a one-year deal, where he played as a backup for the Chicago Wolves, achieving a 12-8-7 record. Miftakhov’s postseason performance included two wins with a .926 SV% in four games.
