The Montreal Canadiens have signed defenseman Maksymilian Szuber to a one-year, two-way contract. The 23-year-old finished the 2025-26 season with 11 goals and 27 points in 65 AHL games for the Tucson Roadrunners after being acquired from the Utah Mammoth in a trade involving Joshua Roy. Szuber, a 6th-round pick in the 2022 NHL Draft, has a total of 25 goals and 87 points in 200 AHL games and is known for his physical play, though he needs to improve his skating. He previously helped Munich win the DEL championship and contributed to Germany’s silver medal at the 2023 IIHF World Championships.
