The San Jose Sharks have signed defenseman Michael Kesselring to a three-year, $13.5MM contract following his acquisition from the Buffalo Sabres. Kesselring, 26, was traded for the 20th overall pick in the 2026 NHL Draft but struggled last season due to injuries, registering only two assists in 34 games. Previously, he had shown promise with the Arizona Coyotes and Utah Hockey Club, where he had strong point production and defensive metrics. The Sharks are optimistic about his potential to return to form with this multi-year deal.
