According to Elliotte Friedman, the Nashville Predators have received permission to speak with Colorado Avalanche general manager Chris MacFarland about a potential front office position. MacFarland, a finalist for the Jim Gregory award as the NHL’s best general manager, has been with the Avalanche since the 2015-16 season and became GM after Joe Sakic’s promotion to president of hockey operations following the team’s 2022 Stanley Cup win. Before joining Colorado, he worked with the Columbus Blue Jackets as director of hockey operations and assistant GM. Further developments are expected.
