Zach Werenski of the Columbus Blue Jackets has won the Norris Trophy, awarded to the NHL’s best defenseman, marking his first career win. He finished the season with 81 points, scoring 22 goals and providing 59 assists, placing second among defensemen in points. In the voting conducted by the Professional Hockey Writers Association, Werenski topped 113 ballots, with Colorado’s Cale Makar and Buffalo’s Rasmus Dahlin following in second and third, respectively.
