The Calgary Flames have signed goaltender Kirill Zarubin to a three-year entry-level contract after he was selected in the third round of the 2024 draft, a pick acquired from the Vegas Golden Knights in the Noah Hanifin trade. Last season, Zarubin excelled in the MHL, earning an All-Star nod with 26 wins and a .930 save percentage. He will join a crowded goaltending depth chart, likely starting in the ECHL to aid his transition to professional play, alongside Arsenii Sergeev. Zarubin is the Flames’ fourth goaltender drafted since 2020, and the third from Russia.
