The Houston Astros are promoting reliever Alimber Santa to their MLB roster, following the designation of righty Cody Bolton for assignment. This marks Santa’s first MLB call-up after a strong minor league season, where he posted a 2.31 ERA and struck out 28% of batters across 70 innings. Despite early struggles, he has improved his performance at Triple-A this year, allowing only three earned runs over 19 innings. The Astros, with a struggling bullpen and an MLB-high 5.78 ERA, hope Santa will provide a much-needed boost.
