The Rockies have designated first baseman Blaine Crim for assignment, making room for veteran righty Keegan Thompson, whose contract was selected from Triple-A Albuquerque. Crim, who showed promise last season but struggled with a high strikeout rate, has been pushed down the depth chart due to offseason acquisitions. Right-handed reliever Victor Vodnik has been placed on the 15-day injured list due to ulnar nerve inflammation. Thompson, who adds depth to a strained Rockies bullpen, joins the big league roster after a solid stint in Triple-A.
