The Carolina Hurricanes have signed forward prospect Charlie Cerrato to a three-year, entry-level contract worth $2.525MM in total salary at the NHL level, with additional AHL provisions. Drafted 49th overall in the 2025 NHL Draft, Cerrato, 21, finished his freshman year at Penn State with 15 goals and 42 points in 38 games. Although his sophomore season was hampered by injury, he recorded seven goals and 27 points in 23 games. It is anticipated he will start the 2026-27 season with the AHL’s Chicago Wolves for further development.
