The Seattle Kraken have recalled goalie prospect Nikke Kokko from AHL Coachella Valley due to Matt Murray‘s leave of absence for family matters. Kokko, a second-round pick in 2022, will serve as the backup to Joey Daccord for potentially the remainder of the season, as usual backup Philipp Grubauer is sidelined with an injury. Despite having flashes of talent, Kokko has struggled with consistency in his AHL performance, posting a .903 SV% and 3.10 GAA. Meanwhile, Murray’s absence continues after he missed over half the season with an injury, and he has yet to return to action since being activated from IR.
