The Toronto Maple Leafs have traded forward Scott Laughton to the Los Angeles Kings for a third-round pick that could become a second-rounder if the Kings reach the playoffs. Laughton, a pending unrestricted free agent with a $3 million cap hit, has recorded 12 points in 43 games this season. The Maple Leafs are at risk of missing the playoffs for the first time in nine seasons, having also dealt forwards Nicolas Roy and Bobby McMann before the deadline.
