The Washington Capitals have recalled goaltender Clay Stevenson from the AHL’s Hershey Bears due to Logan Thompson being unavailable for tonight’s game against the Detroit Red Wings, as he is sidelined with an upper-body injury. Thompson’s absence comes after he started three games during the Capitals’ recent road trip, recording a 1-2-0 record. Stevenson, who has performed well in Hershey with an 11-8-4 record and .912 SV%, returns for his second stint with the team this season. He last played in the NHL in April, stopping 33 shots in a loss to the Penguins.
