The Los Angeles Kings (19-16-11) faced the Vegas Golden Knights (22-11-12) in a crucial Pacific division matchup, ultimately losing 3-2 in overtime. Despite controlling much of the first period, the Kings failed to score and fell behind when rookie Braeden Bowman netted a goal for Vegas. Kevin Fiala equalized for Los Angeles, but Mitch Marner’s power-play goal restored Vegas’ lead before Brandt Clarke tied it again, forcing overtime. Mark Stone sealed the win for the Golden Knights just 25 seconds into the extra period.
