The St. Louis Blues’ defenseman Philip Broberg suffered an upper-body injury early in the first period against the Vegas Golden Knights after a check from Vegas captain Mark Stone. Broberg, who had just signed a six-year, $48 million extension, played only 55 seconds and recorded an assist before leaving the game. He has two goals and 12 assists in 46 games this season, averaging a career-high 23:18 ice time per game. Broberg was also selected for Sweden’s Winter Olympic hockey team last week.
