IIHF president addresses delays, but all systems go for puck drop
At a press conference, IIHF President Luc Tardif acknowledged that parts of the Milano Santagiulia Ice Hockey Arena may not be fully completed ahead of the February 11 men’s hockey event for the Milan Cortina Olympics. Despite construction delays, he assured that the playing surface, practice facilities, and dressing rooms will be ready. Concerns regarding the ice quality have led the NHL to send experts to evaluate safety measures. Tardif plans to visit Italy for a test event, expressing confidence in the infrastructure while highlighting the need for improvements by the 2030 Olympics.
