The Minnesota Wild defeated the Vegas Golden Knights 5-2 at T-Mobile Arena, with Vegas falling to 1-1-1 in their four-game homestand and losing five of their last six. The Wild took an early lead with goals from Marcus Johansson and Matt Boldy, followed by three more in the second period before Vegas scored through Brayden McNabb and Mark Stone. The Golden Knights struggled offensively, registering a season-low 16 shots on goal, while goalie Akira Schmid impressively stopped all 15 shots he faced after replacing Carter Hart. Vegas will next host the Nashville Predators on Wednesday to conclude their homestand.
