Sam Dickinson, a 19-year-old defenseman selected 11th overall by the San Jose Sharks in the 2024 NHL Draft, will remain with the team instead of joining the Canadian National Junior Team for the upcoming World Junior Championship. He has played in 27 games this season, scoring one goal and two assists, and has averaged nearly 15 minutes of ice time. Sharks’ management had considered the loan but decided against it to help Dickinson establish strong NHL habits. The World Junior Championship runs from December 26 to January 5, with several Sharks prospects participating.
