Spencer Carbery, head coach of the Washington Capitals, was awarded the 2024-25 Jack Adams Award for his significant contribution to the team’s success, leading them to a 51-22-9 record and first place in the Eastern Conference. The award presentation, which took place during what Carbery thought was a season-ending interview, was made by his wife and children, alongside extended family members. Carbery’s recognition marks him as the first coach to receive the coach of the year honors in the ECHL, AHL, and NHL, and he garnered 81 first-place votes from the NHL Broadcasters’ Association.
