The Los Angeles Kings have decided not to retain general manager Rob Blake following the team’s fourth consecutive first-round playoff exit. Blake, who served as GM since 2017, oversaw five playoff appearances but failed to advance past the first round each time, culminating in a recent elimination by the Edmonton Oilers. The Kings will also review the status of coach Jim Hiller, while Blake’s tenure included significant player acquisitions and trades, including the controversial move of trading for Pierre-Luc Dubois, who was later dealt for goalie Darcy Kuemper.
