Washington Capitals star Alex Ovechkin is on the verge of becoming the NHL’s all-time goals leader, needing 16 more goals to surpass Wayne Gretzky’s record before the end of the season. Ovechkin currently has 879 career goals and tallied 42 goals in the 2022-23 season, making history with an NHL record 18th 30-goal season.
