The Detroit Red Wings are in search of a new general manager following Steve Yzerman’s transition to a senior advisor role. NHL Insider Elliotte Friedman suggested that Jeff Greenberg, the current GM of the Detroit Tigers and former employee of the Chicago Blackhawks, could be a potential candidate, although he emphasized that Greenberg is not necessarily a front-runner. The new GM will face challenges, including making Detroit a free-agent destination and addressing captain Dylan Larkin’s trade request after a decade of playoff misses.
