Hutchinson, drafted 77th overall by the Boston Bruins in 2008, played for several NHL teams, including the Winnipeg Jets, where he had a notable 21-10-5 record in the 2013-14 season. He joined the Red Wings in 2023 on a professional tryout and later signed a one-year contract with their AHL affiliate, the Grand Rapids Griffins.
