The Carolina Hurricanes have re-signed defenseman Juuso Valimaki to a one-year contract worth $900,000 for the 2026-27 season. Valimaki, a former first-round pick (16th overall in 2017) by Calgary, has 72 points in 271 NHL games and helped the Chicago Wolves reach the Calder Cup Final last season. He will likely compete for a spot on the Hurricanes’ blue line against Charles Alexis Legault and Joel Nystrom. Valimaki previously played in the WHL, earning All-Star honors in 2017 and 2018.
