The New York Islanders have appointed former NHL forward Pascal Dupuis as their new Director of Player Development, succeeding Eric Cairns, who held the position since the 2013-14 season. Dupuis, a Stanley Cup champion with the Pittsburgh Penguins in 2009, had a 15-year NHL career and retired in 2015 due to a medical condition. He previously owned the QMJHL’s Shawinigan Cataractes and now joins the Islanders to enhance their player development amid a critical time for the organization’s prospects.
