The Orioles acquired right-hander Eduarniel Núñez from the Athletics for cash after he was designated for assignment, and he has been optioned to Triple-A Norfolk. Núñez, who struggled in his brief MLB debut and has shown poor command with a 4.61 ERA this season, is in his second minor league option year, giving the Orioles time to help him improve. To make room on the 40-man roster, they designated right-handed reliever Christian Roa for assignment, marking his third DFA this season. Roa, a former No. 48 overall pick, has yet to establish himself in the majors and will face resolution regarding his status within a week.
