The Sharks have called up Laurent Brossoit to replace Yaroslav Askarov, who is day-to-day with a non-serious lower-body injury. Askarov has had a challenging first NHL season, but has made 40 starts. Meanwhile, the Sabres reported that Alex Tuch will return from injury, but Mattias Samuelsson is doubtful, and Tanner Pearson is out. Additionally, Panthers assistant GM Brett Peterson will manage Team USA in the upcoming World Championship, and Flames defenseman Zach Whitecloud is set to return from injury.
