The San Jose Sharks have reassigned forward Igor Chernyshov to the AHL’s San Jose Barracuda to open a roster spot as Shakir Mukhamadullin or Kiefer Sherwood is expected to return from injury. Chernyshov, a 20-year-old Russian selected 33rd overall in the 2024 NHL Draft, had a successful NHL debut with three goals and 11 points in 15 games. He previously scored 11 goals and 23 points in 25 AHL games this season. His early chemistry with Macklin Celebrini suggests a promising future with the Sharks.
