The Columbus Blue Jackets will activate veteran defenseman Erik Gudbranson for tonight’s game against the Vancouver Canucks after he has been sidelined with a hip injury since late October. The 34-year-old has struggled with injuries throughout the final years of his four-year, $16MM contract, playing only 16 games last season. Despite his injury history, Gudbranson is expected to fill a depth role due to other defensive injuries. A corresponding roster move will likely involve demoting defenseman Dysin Mayo, who recently played in a game against the Calgary Flames.
