DENVER — Trent Miner achieved his first NHL victory by stopping all 29 shots in a 4–0 win for the Colorado Avalanche against the Columbus Blue Jackets, marking him as the 17th goaltender in league history to record a shutout in his inaugural win. This victory extended Colorado’s home point streak to 21 games and improved their home record to 19-0-2 this season. Coach Jared Bednar praised the team’s consistency, while Miner expressed joy in contributing to the win. Selected 202nd overall in the 2019 NHL Draft, Miner made the most of his opportunity after a strong season with the Colorado Eagles.
