Steven Stamkos has signed a four-year, $32 million contract with the Nashville Predators after leaving the Tampa Bay Lightning, where he had been since 2008. The lack of contract extension talks with Lightning GM Julien BriseBois led Stamkos to test the free agent market, ultimately choosing the Predators for the next chapter of his career. Predators GM Barry Trotz also added Jonathan Marchessault and Brady Skjei in a busy first hour of NHL free agency.
