Bridgman, first Senators GM, has died



Mel Bridgman, the former NHL forward who was drafted first overall by the Philadelphia Flyers in 1975 and served as the Ottawa Senators’ first general manager, has passed away at 70. Known for his power-forward style and leadership, Bridgman had a notable 14-year career, finishing with 252 goals and 449 assists, and later transitioned to management and player representation after earning an MBA.
