Former Pittsburgh Penguins forward Matt Cooke has been appointed as the general manager and head coach of the BCHL’s Vernon Vipers for the 2024-25 season, following his tenure as head coach of the ECHL’s Newfoundland Growlers. Cooke, a Stanley Cup champion with the Penguins in 2009, had a 16-season NHL career, playing over 1,000 games and achieving 398 points.
