The Atlanta Falcons will start QB Tua Tagovailoa over Michael Penix Jr. in Week 1 against the Steelers, with Tagovailoa on a short leash due to Penix’s ACL recovery. Tagovailoa, selected fifth overall by the Dolphins in 2020, signed a one-year deal with the Falcons after his release, while Penix was drafted eighth overall in 2024. Last season, Tagovailoa completed 67.7% of his passes with 20 touchdowns, while Penix had a 60.1% completion rate. The Falcons’ QB situation will be monitored as the season progresses.
