Atomic bomb survivor and baseball player Harimoto dies at 86

Korean-Japanese baseball legend Isao Harimoto, known as the Hit Machine, passed away in Tokyo at 86. He recorded 3,085 hits over a 23-season career, becoming the only player in Nippon Professional Baseball history to reach 3,000 hits and achieving over 500 home runs and 300 stolen bases. Harimoto, a survivor of the Hiroshima bombing, was an 18-time All-Star and helped the Toei Flyers win their first Japan Series in 1962, later being inducted into the Japanese Baseball Hall of Fame in 1990.
