New York Jets rookie quarterback Cade Klubnik has been named the backup to starter Geno Smith for the upcoming season, as announced by coach Aaron Glenn. Drafted in the fourth round from Clemson, Klubnik has shown promise during preseason, completing 16 of 27 passes for 134 yards with one interception. Despite entering the season as a rookie backup, his performance and confidence have impressed coaches, who plan to develop him further through practice. Veteran Bailey Zappe is expected to join the practice squad as the third quarterback.
