Iowa Cubs
The Iowa Cubs fell to the Omaha Storm Chasers, 3-1, despite a strong start from Javier Assad, who allowed one run in 5.1 innings. James Triantos contributed Iowa’s only run with a solo home run. Chas McCormick made notable defensive plays in right field. Antoine Kelly took the loss after allowing two runs in the ninth.
Knoxville Smokies
The Knoxville Smokies dominated the Biloxi Shuckers, winning 12-2, led by Edgar Alvarez’s three hits, including a home run and four RBIs. Connor Schultz started strong, and Yenrri Rojas earned the win in relief. Miguel Useche and Alex Madera also had significant contributions. The Smokies showcased a powerful offensive performance.
South Bend Cubs
The South Bend Cubs narrowly lost to the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers, 11-10, despite Logan Poteet’s two home runs and Alexey Lumpuy’s five RBIs. Anhuar Garcia had a solid start, but JP Wheat’s struggles in the eighth inning led to the defeat. The team rallied late, but fell short. Poteet’s and Lumpuy’s performances highlighted a strong offensive effort.
Myrtle Beach Pelicans
The Myrtle Beach Pelicans suffered a collapse against the Augusta Green Jackets, losing 10-8 after leading 8-1. Freddy Rodriguez pitched well initially, but a disastrous eighth inning led to the team’s downfall. Alexis Hernandez and Derniche Valdez provided offensive sparks with home runs. The Pelicans’ late-game struggles ultimately cost them the victory.
