ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that the 49ers are releasing linebacker Deion Jones. The 31-year-old former second-round pick of the Falcons in 2016 was in the final year of a four-year, $4.546 million contract. After a series of team changes, including stints with the Browns, Panthers, Bills, and Buccaneers, Jones was traded to the 49ers from the Saints during training camp. In 2025, he played all 17 games for the Buccaneers, recording 29 tackles.
