The Cincinnati Reds have placed third baseman Eugenio Suarez and outfielder TJ Friedl on outright waivers, allowing other teams to claim them and assume their contracts. Suarez, batting .208 with 19 homers, is owed under $3 million for the year, while Friedl has a dismal .476 OPS. If unclaimed, the Reds may release both players as they seek financial savings and consider their future with the team. Currently, the Reds are 63-71 and nine games back in the NL wild-card race.
