The Detroit Tigers have signed former Atlanta Braves reliever Tyler Kinley to a major league deal to strengthen their struggling bullpen. Kinley, who was released by the Braves after a 6-5 record and 4.01 ERA in 49 games this season, will be active for the upcoming series against the Tampa Bay Rays. To accommodate his addition, the Tigers optioned Ty Madden and designated Ricky Vanasco for assignment. Kinley is known for his effective slider, which boasts a 29.8% whiff rate.
