Several teams are reportedly interested in trading Steelers cornerback Joey Porter Jr., who is due for a significant contract extension as he enters the final year of his rookie deal. Steelers head coach Mike McCarthy expressed a desire to coach Porter but acknowledged an impasse in negotiations, emphasizing the need to separate business from football. Currently, Porter is on the PUP list after aggravating a back injury and did not participate in team drills during training camp. Drafted in 2023, Porter is set to become an unrestricted free agent in 2027.
