Michael Carrick acknowledged that while it will be challenging for Manchester United to win the Premier League this season, he believes it’s not impossible. Since Sir Alex Ferguson’s retirement in 2013, United has struggled to maintain a title challenge, but Carrick’s return last season saw them earn the most points in the league. As they prepare for their first matches against newly-promoted teams, Carrick emphasized the need for squad improvements and confirmed they are seeking further signings, including a £60m bid for Brighton’s Carlos Baleba.
