Patriots sign Greg Van Roten, address sudden lack of guard depth originally appeared on NBC Sports Boston
After injuries to Ben Brown and Andrew Rupcich, the Patriots’ guard and center depth became critical. To bolster their line, they signed veteran guard Greg Van Roten, who has extensive NFL experience, including starting all 17 games for the Raiders in 2023. Van Roten, who has played in 144 games since 2012, was added after the team initially signed two inexperienced linemen. Head coach Mike Vrabel emphasized the need to evaluate younger players while remaining vigilant for potential additions from around the league.
