The Toronto Blue Jays have recalled former No. 1 prospect Ricky Tiedemann from Triple-A Buffalo, optioning right-handed reliever Chase Lee back to Triple-A following Lee’s struggles on the mound. Tiedemann, a left-handed pitcher, has made significant progress in his recovery from Tommy John surgery and was activated off the injury list on August 5. He will wear No. 33 and is expected to enhance the bullpen with his elite slider and fastball reaching 99 mph. The Blue Jays’ bullpen, currently overworked, will benefit from Tiedemann’s return as he adds much-needed left-handed depth.
