Cincinnati Reds pitcher Hunter Greene underwent Tommy John surgery to repair a damaged UCL in his right elbow, ending his 2026 season and likely sidelining him for most of 2027. Greene, who previously had the surgery in 2019, struggled in 2026 with a 6.83 ERA after a strong 2024 season where he posted a 2.75 ERA. He was placed on the injured list after experiencing elbow soreness following his last start on July 31. The Reds selected Greene second overall in the 2017 MLB Draft.
