The Boston Red Sox have called up right-hander Seth Martinez from Triple-A Worcester, optioning lefty Raymond Burgos to make room on the roster. Martinez, who has pitched in the majors for five consecutive seasons, has a 4.00 ERA over 144 innings but struggled recently with a 5.55 ERA in Triple-A this season. Despite this, he has shown solid strikeout and ground-ball rates, and with no options left, he must remain on the roster or pass through waivers. The Red Sox are looking to bolster their bullpen ahead of a game on Sunday.
